Where to Look First

San Juan County uses different offices for jail custody, sheriff records, court cases, public-record requests, state prisoners, and federal or immigration custody. Start with the source that matches the record you need.

  • County jail custody: San Juan County Adult Detention Center, 871 Andrea Drive, Farmington, NM 87401; general ADC information (505) 566-4500. The county says detainee information is available through the official Detainee Inquiry system.
  • Visitation: For Adult Detention Center visitation questions, call (505) 516-0115.
  • Commissary: For San Juan County ADC commissary questions, call (505) 566-4518.
  • PREA: The ADC PREA Coordinator can be reached at (505) 566-4509 or preacoordinator@sjcounty.net.
  • Sheriff records and patrol matters: San Juan County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff R. Shane Ferrari, main office at 211 S. Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM 87410; phone (505) 334-6107.
  • Sheriff substations: Lee Acres substation, 21 Road 5500, Farmington; Kirtland substation, 6 Road 6360, Kirtland. Sheriff public offices are posted for Monday through Thursday service, with Aztec listed as 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Lee Acres/Kirtland listed as 7:00 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
  • Non-emergency dispatch: Call (505) 334-6622 for on-duty deputies when it is not an emergency. Call 911 for emergencies.
